When Exceptionalism Rules

When you boil it down to basics, this is what you get:

Inclusiveness: This. And That. And also That, and That. This, along with All Else and Anything that might come along.

Exclusiveness: This. Not That. And neither That nor That. This, to the exclusion of All Else.
Exceptionalism: This. Not That. And neither That nor That. This, not only to the exclusion of All Else but above All Else - Über Allus.

When love cohabits with exceptionalism it begets patronage - there are donors and recipients.
When love cohabits with inclusiveness it begets partnership - there is exchange and collaboration.

Before you learn to love, learn to be inclusive. And if you just can't espouse inclusiveness, then at least eschew exceptionalism.

Minor Observation #6

The trouble with folks who are comfortable thinking in terms of (a+b)2 and such is that they are lousy at simple arithmetic.
